Vacancy Description

Family Description and Location:

A lovely British family based in Islington are seeking a reliable Tagalog speaking, child-friendly Afternoon Housekeeper to support the smooth running of their home. This is a long-term, part-time role suited to someone organised, warm, and happy working alongside a hands-on family with young children. The family live in a spacious 3-bedroom townhouse arranged over four floors. They have three children aged 6 and 2½, with a new baby due in mid-June. Mum will be on maternity leave for approximately one year before returning to work part time. Dad works from home part time. There is currently a part-time cleaner who attends for 4 hours per week and will continue to assist the main housekeeper. There are no pets at the property.  The home is ideally located just a 5-minute walk from Angel Station and approximately 15 minutes from Farringdon Station, providing excellent transport links via the Northern Line, Metropolitan Line, Hammersmith & City Line, Circle Line, Elizabeth Line and Thameslink.

Job Description:

  • General housekeeping duties
  • Laundry and ironing for the whole family
  • Preparing simple, healthy family-style meals daily (recipes provided)
  • Keeping the home tidy, organised and running smoothly
  • Some ad hoc childcare, such as supervising the children for short periods
  • Occasional school pick-ups on foot (school is approximately a 15-minute walk)

Candidate Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate will be a true all-rounder who is happy to muck in and work as part of a team.
  • You will be child-friendly, practical, and confident cooking simple family meals on a daily basis.
  • The family are looking for someone who can work independently, use initiative, and maintain high household standards without constant direction.
  • Excellent, checkable references are essential.

Days of Work and Salary:

  • Monday to Friday
  • 20 hours per week, ideally afternoons
  • Approximately 4 hours per day
  • Suggested hours: 2pm – 6pm (flexible)
  • Three full days may be considered for the right candidate
  • PAYE position with contract
  • Tax and National Insurance paid by the employer
  • Salary: £20 – £25 per hour gross
  • Dependent on experience and references
  • Proposed start date: March
  • The family are happy to wait for the right candidate if required
